I documented a couple of vehicles during my first-night walk down the Las Vegas Strip. They command a bit more attention than a Toyota Camry.
One of my favorite books that I recently finished is “The Psychology of Money” by Morgan Housel, a book that goes way beyond the typical information about investing.
Morgan says when people see a fancy car, like this Lamborghini or Ferrari, they don’t think about the driver. They see themselves in the car, dreaming about it. Nobody cares about the driver, just the car.
I’m sure many of these supercar owners purchased their bling to impress others. Unfortunately for them, it doesn’t work. People mostly think about themselves and not others.
In my case, I really don’t care about these cars either, other than to document something unusual. I find these vehicles ridiculous and wouldn’t even keep it if I got one for free. Yeah, I’d rather have the Toyota Camry, though that wouldn’t be my first choice either.
I found the Lamborghini in front of the Aria on my trek north. If I remember correctly, I found the Ferrari on the way back at the Waldorf Astoria. Both hotels are adjacent to each other. We’ve definitely entered the fancy section of the Las Vegas Strip.
