I squeezed in one last Las Vegas Strip walk on the last day of my visit. My flight was scheduled for late afternoon, so I had time during the day to explore even further north than my previous photo walks. Like the night before, I shot with the Fujifilm GFX 50S II and TTArtisan Fisheye. This walk and blog post are continuations of my casino in fisheye coverage.
Since I left off at the Bellagio the night before, we start today’s coverage just north at Caesars Palace. I didn’t go inside but created this dramatic, super-wide picture of the outdoor sculptures.
While I’ve shot the exterior of the Paris Casino, I never went inside until that afternoon. As expected, there were French-themed elements inside. However, I was most enamored by this circular red neon entryway. Fisheyes often render circular objects most desirably, and the red neon, which I love, was icing on the cake.
I spend much time at the Venetian Hotel and Casino complex. I first stayed there on a business trip many years ago during my first visit to Las Vegas. I knew there were many visually enticing scenes waiting for me to capture. Here, I’m on a balcony looking towards the Faux-St. Mark’s Bell Tower — the original is located in Venice.
The symmetrical composition is near the entrance to the Venetian. The super-wide-angle has dramatically elongated the flanking stairways. However, the fresco on the ceiling impresses the most.
While exploring the Venetian, I discovered this bar, which was unpopulated during noontime, even in Las Vegas. I love the rich and opulent design, while the giant chandeliers make impressive focal points.
This grand hallway impresses with its details and geometric floor. It leads to the golden globe housed under a dome with an oculus. These are some of my favorite interior elements of the Venetian.
I finished my walk just north of the Venetian at the Wynn Las Vegas Resort, one of the Strip’s most upscale properties. I prefer it to the more famous and centrally located Bellagio. This lush garden area was particularly delightful and photogenic.
