My solo photo walk through Chur lasted about an hour and a half. I returned to the hotel for the included breakfast, packed, and headed for the nearby train station. It was a productive morning of photography, and I had plenty of time for our 11 a.m. train.
While checking out, I talked to the front desk staff, remarking how beautiful Chur was. “Are all Swiss cities this gorgeous?” I asked. “Yes, except perhaps Zurich.” Having been in Zurich the day before, I was surprised at her answer and equally impressed at what I’ve experienced so far.
For such an old and historic city, Chur had a surprisingly modern train station. Everything was clean and pristine, and the architecture was more dramatic than expected.
Underground tunnels connected the platforms. It was not fancy but clean and cheerful, with no homeless people. Everything I experienced in Chur was quite civilized. Do people here know how unusual this is compared to the rest of the world?
