The spectacular view I talked about yesterday isn’t the only enjoyment on the Glacier Express. There’s some solid dining, too. Nothing fancy, but tasty and enjoyable. On the Glacier Express, First Class, which we chose, is not Excellence; there’s something better, as you can see from this video.
The video is worth a look to see well-healed lovely people enjoying life set to James Bond-esque music. The Excellence Class is another step above First Class, which we opted not to experience.
I believe the food is optional in First Class. My wife and I chose the four-course meal, while my sister and mom chose the three-course meal. The difference was the cheese and bread plate. As you can tell, I started coverage with the dessert, which we did receive last.
The first course was the fresh salad.
The main course was this fantastic meatloaf, which was only beaten by my favorite meatloaf at Roy’s restaurant in Honolulu, Hawaii.
Our four-course option included a bread and cheese plate. As expected, there was also a drink service with an optional choice of alcoholic drinks. We were more than thrilled with our first-class experience, which included a great meal, wonderful company, and gorgeous views.
