I posted a view from my Zermatt hotel room several days ago. Though cloudy and hiding its most dramatic perspective, it was certainly picturesque. The hotel room was fantastic, too.

Of the four hotels we stayed at on our Paris and Switzerland trip, the Christiania Mountain and Spa was my wife’s favorite. I also liked it, though I’m unsure if it gets my top billing. Either way, the room was comfortable and luxurious in a cozy way without being fussy. It has that Swiss sensibility of minimalism and practicality without being austere. It’s a far cry from the hotel room the night before in Chur.

The view certainly takes centerstage; you can appreciate it from the comfortable bed. We only stayed two nights but would’ve liked to have been there longer — both the hotel and the town of Zermatt deserve more tourist time.
