Certain scenes scream “Paris” for me, and this is one of them — though I don’t know why. I must have seen it in a movie somewhere. It’s not as touristy as the Eiffel Tower, but it’s not original either.

When I’m in tourist mode, I’m content capturing the expected scenes. I’m not trying to achieve an original composition, though these days of endless online images make it hard to stand out.

My expectations are modest. A well-composed scene with a clear subject and a little visual pop makes me happy. I’ll build from there if something comes up. Of course, a black-and-white conversion always makes things a bit more artistic and timeless.
