If I ever needed a super-wide lens, this would be it: inside the vast dome and arches of the Sacre Coeur. It’s hard to capture the scale of a structure like this, and I did the best I could with a 24mm equivalent. I actually own a super-wide, the Fujifilm 10-24mm, which would’ve produced a 15 to 36mm equivalent. However, I opted not to bring it.
I was determined to travel to Europe with a single camera and lens, so I needed to compromise.
Shooting vertically and horizontally from the same position yielded these results. Mentally combining them completes the picture, which doesn’t require Photoshop or a super wide — less drama but more details.
