Food, Pink Mamma – Paris, France

Pink Mamma was my favorite restaurant from my 2022 European trip. Yesterday, I showed you the customers and the stylish and comfortable interior. Today, we will look at what we ordered.

Matching with the comfortable and casual decor, notice the mismatched plates and the cute table setting. We started with an appetizer of Prosciutto di Parma, which is supposed to be the best raw Italian ham from the City of Parma. We had a bottle of carbonated water and a couple of refreshing drinks.

Here’s a closeup of the prosciutto — thinly sliced and richly colored.

I ordered a pasta dish, though I don’t remember the name. It was a beef dish, I think. It was wonderfully tasty. The sauce is supposed to flavor the pasta, so you won’t see a massive heap of meat sauce.

My wife ordered pizza, knowing that she wouldn’t be able to finish it. We planned to share the pizza, and I gave her a sample of the pasta.

I’ve often mentioned that pizza is my favorite. Growing up in New York City, it was my go-to comfort food. This is a classic Neapolitan Margarita pizza, which is very different from the New York style. It is one of the best pizzas I’ve ever had. Imagine an airy, crispy, and doughy crust — three characteristics that don’t seem possible together. Yet, they achieved it.

The pasta was fantastic. However, the pizza was next level.

Here’s one more beauty shot of our main course.

Our waiter was from Naples, and I asked her how this pizza compared to the ones from her home city. She said that she couldn’t vote against her hometown pizza, but the ones at Pink Mamma were very close. This makes me want to go to Naples to give them a try.

We had excellent food in a delightful environment, and the food was reasonably priced. It’s the kind of restaurant we like — not fussy or fancy but with fantastic food. Tomorrow, we’ll look at some more restaurant architecture.
