Our walk over the monumental Pont Alexandre III bridge took us to a station, where we took a train to a western Paris suburb — not any suburb, but one that sports a famous tourist site with a deep history. I’ll talk about that later.

Today, we get a view of the upper deck of this regional train. And while it’s not a fancy TGV, it seems more cheerful and up-to-date. It was a comfortable ride that took just over an hour.

The staircase to the second floor had some design flair, as seen below. While the train wasn’t plush, its clean, utilitarian aesthetic was a plus in my book.
