As you might expect from a palace, Versailles has some elaborate architecture, but its vast scale is what impressed me. Beyond its history and the royal furnishings, it seems more like a giant art museum.
I have to admit that, after a while, I grew tired of most of the artwork—portraits of long-dead people. Photographically, I was more enamored with capturing the people’s reactions to the artwork and interior decorations.
I captured these two women without detection while they concentrated on the art. I don’t remember what they were looking at, but I like the image I made of the scene.

Yes, I love shooting in museums and palaces for the street photography and the architecture. Ironically, I’m not as interested in most of the art, however, with some exceptions.
