Piano Player on Bridge – Paris, France

I’ve seen my share of street performers before, but never a piano player in the middle of the street on a bridge. I couldn’t get past the logistics of how he transports his instrument. It seems like a hell of a lot of work. A keyboard and speakers seem easier, though I realize it’s not the same thing.

In photography, an entire sub-genre only shoots film, eschewing digital. In the watch community, you have people who only collect mechanical watches and dislike smartwatches and even conventional watches with quartz movements. I’m sure there’s the same kind of preference (or snobbery) about musical instruments: analog instruments only, no digital.

Street pianos must be a thing in Paris because I saw another piano player several blocks away. However, his might have been a digital piano since I saw speakers.

I understand the analog purists, but I’ve totally embraced digital. I no longer shoot my film cameras, other than instant film, and the health tracking aspect of my Apple Watch can’t be matched with mechanical watches.
