The Eiffel Tower has three levels for observation, at roughly 200, 400, and 900 feet. We took the elevator on the ground floor, which whisked us up to the second level.
I snapped two views from level two before I got on another elevator to the third and top level. I later read in a travel blog that they liked level 2 the best for views. It’s high enough to see all of Paris but close enough to the ground to identify landmarks.
We knew nothing of this and quickly got on the elevator to the top. The lines were long, so we were compelled to beat the crowd.
The purple lights were there to illuminate the tower. The bridge you see over the Seine River is where I made this photograph a few nights earlier.
