Definitely not a Barn

Modern House - Mountain Village, Colorado

Modern House – Mountain Village, Colorado

A few weeks ago, I featured a beautiful modern house set against the mountains. I have one more to show you from the same Mountain Village development as the previous one. This is obviously an affluent area, and there were many lovely houses.

With a mix of natural stone, wood, and copper, this house has a rustic aesthetic built of traditional materials. However, its size and architecture clearly indicate that it is thoroughly modern. Comparing this building to the barns I posted a couple of days ago is almost comical.

I wonder what the early settlers who lived next to the barns would think about a building like this? Would it be completely baffling? Perhaps most of us would also be overwhelmed by the generous proportions.
