Here’s another scene from our hike in Ouray, Colorado. The rocky cliffs are an awesome sight, but the slender trees growing on top are both amazing and comical. It goes to show that life will find a way, even if there is very little soil.
Somewhere down there, between the openings of the rock cliffs, is a river with a small waterfall. We took the path that led to the water, crossing metal bridges that made the walk easy but a bit scary for people who don’t like heights.
I shot more along the path and the bridges. Interesting photos but not compelling enough to add them to the blog. The river and the waterfall were nice, but hard to shoot effectively without a tripod. The dynamic range between the dark at the bottom of the rocks and the bright opening was too much, even for the medium format Fujifilm GFX 50R. Shooting multiple exposures and stitching together via HDR software would be needed. On the other hand, the scene wasn’t spectacular enough to warrant all the work, even if I were to have a tripod.
