Yesterday’s tall and straight palm tree trunks looked powerful, surrounded by high-rises, but I like today’s photograph even more. This single tree’s twisted trunk and branches have more visual character than the palms. I also like that the tree is more or less centered within the frame and surrounded by a well-balanced assortment of structures.
Palms are easy, but I’m not enough of a botanist to identify this tree. I used Google and AI to identify trees with pink flowers in Hawaii. There are several, but it is hard to make a definitive match.
I recall that I snapped this photo near Marugame Udon, which usually sports thirty-minute lines to get in. I blogged about Marugame, featuring candids inside, back in 2021. Taking pictures is a nice way to pass the time, and I made a notable image with a fisheye.
