Faded Liquor

Faded Liquor - Taylor, Texas

Faded Liquor – Taylor, Texas

I found it interesting that only one sign remains on this row of retail buildings. I assume that at one point, all had different businesses. The two stores on the right share the same facade with stucco over the original brick. Were they both part of the same Liquor store? You can see parts of the stucco chipped off to reveal the bricks underneath.

The generic Liquor sign is also interesting, with no designation as to the owner or a more specific store name. The signage reminds me of the generic State Store signs I used to see when I lived in Pennsylvania.

Upon closer scrutiny, I discovered a nearly invisible “Integrity Reliability Trust” sign on the building to the left. It’s located next to the doorway, rather than at the top of the structure. Googling the sign didn’t reveal any previously existing businesses. I have an odd fascination foresically finding old establishments. Sometimes we find unexpected businesses like SST Records.
