I’ve shown you many once-attractive or possibly future-attractive buildings in this series from Taylor, Texas. I shot the series in 2022 with the Fujifilm GFX 50S II medium-format camera. For my last post, I show a nicely updated building and a lively scene.

The Black Sparrow Music Parlor is located on 2nd Street, near the corner of Main Street, where the old bank buildings are situated. Unlike those banks, the Sparrow is alive and well. A Google Maps search indicates it’s still in business, and with high ratings.

I attended a concert at the Black Sparrow in the summer of 2019, before the pandemic. Friends I knew had a band, and I documented the concert here . That seems like a long time ago. I even used an Olympus PEN-F back then, a camera that I still own, but haven’t used in ages.
