On the fifth and top floor of Haneda Terminal 3, located on the same level as the observation deck, are additional stores in a techno-modern area. Called the Cool Zone, part of Tokyo Pop Town, which sells anime-related souvenirs, it reminds me of the 1980s-era Disneyland designs with modern flourishes. You can imagine this hallway leading to the Star Tours ride, the Captain EO theater, or the blue people mover with magnetic propulsion. All icons of Disney’s Tomorrowland attractions. Incidentally, there is also a Hot Zone that I didn’t visit.
It was too early for the shops to be open, so I just quickly snapped pictures of the area. It took me a few attempts, but I managed to frame the silver archway evenly for a precise view. I shot with an f5.6 aperture to get all of the details in focus.
I haven’t mentioned that camera I’ve been using to document Haneda and the rest of the Singapore trip. It was the Sony A7C with the 24mm f2.8, a compact setup for a full-frame camera. It worked well on the trip, although I did bring one more beefier camera, which I’ll discuss later.
