Continuing with the architecture along the bay, I’m looking north, shot near Singapore’s famous Merlion. You can tell the skyline is sparser in this direction, but the golden dome-like structure dominates the skyline. I like how the slender lit bridge arches over to the glowing Esplanade.
The Esplanade, also known as the Theaters on the Bay, is a concert and theater space. There are multiple venues, including smaller ones for intimate performances, a 1,600-seat concert hall, and a 2,000-seat theater. The facility opened in 2022.
Although it’s been a while since I last shot on a tripod, I often use this method, especially when creating HDR images. With the high dynamic range of modern cameras, especially the Fujifilm GFX 50S II, a single image usually suffices. It was a windy night, however, and I had challenges getting a steady shot on my travel-friendly tripod. I took several pictures to get a tack-sharp image.
