Grounds and Pool, The Fullerton Hotel

Issue 76 of my fabulous photography magazine is hot off the digital presses (via email). I took two big trips to very different places, doing street photography and architecture at one location, and lots of landscapes at the other. I discuss gear selection, which is half the battle, and I also review a neat gadget that is even more important than cameras and much more. I didn’t get to explore the grounds of The Fullerton Hotel until a couple of days into my stay. Being an urban hotel in the heart of downtown, the grounds were modest though meticulously groomed. The pool looked nice enough, though I didn’t swim. What’s really impressive is the pillared stone building next to the pool. It almost looks like a private pool next to your own grand mansion. The converted old post office really makes a statement.

A small patio and a grassy area rounded the tour of the grounds. Not much to talk about, but landscaping offers adequate screening and privacy. It really does feel like your private villa in the city.

Switching back to the pool, you get a panoramic view of the surrounding skyline. My mom and I spent most of our time exploring the other attractions in Singapore, so unfortunately, we didn’t have time to relax and enjoy the hotel’s amenities. That would’ve required more time than the few days we spent in this bustling city-state.
