I commented yesterday on the similarity between some of Tampa’s skyscrapers near the bridge and those in Austin. However, here’s one structure and amenity that Austin doesn’t have, the Tampa Riverwalk, a 2.6-mile pedestrian trail along the Hillsborough River.

Researching the Riverwalk reveals that it features museums, hotels, parks, and restaurants along its route. While very different from San Antonio’s Riverwalk, I would’ve enjoyed walking its entire length if I had the time. I chose to explore more of downtown and even experienced a historic district during my short stay.

While Austin doesn’t have an elaborate Riverwalk like Tampa, we do have the Hike and Bike Trail along Lady Bird Lake. Some sections even “float” above the river. The two are different yet share some elements.
