We all had a lot of luggage for this trip, and you can see the participants dragging their suitcases toward our accommodations. In fact, we had so much stuff that we hired a second taxi to carry the luggage and some of the folks to clear out space from our primary taxi. See that yellow van in the background, that was our primary vehicle.
I was dragging my suitcases and my backpack full of gear as I snapped this picture. I unofficially served as trip documenter, taking many behind-the-scenes photos.
In addition to our clothing and gear, we all brought an extra suitcase filled with gifts and necessities. One of the goals of the trip is to help the Cuban people. Thus, in addition to spending money in the local economy, we brought toys, balls, sporting equipment, medicine, and other daily-use items. I got a large check-in suitcase, filled it with items, and left the suitcase there for others to use.
