Rooftop View – Havana, Cuba

The rooftop area of the casa offered an expansive space serving as the kitchen, bar, dining, and living rooms. Given the mild Cuban climate, we often used this space. This covered area worked well during the sudden rain showers, and we ate our meals there.

The rooftop also gave expanded views of the old Havana neighborhood beyond what we can see from the balcony on the floor below. As you can see, the surrounding buildings also utilize their rooftops.

You can also appreciate the gritty and worn character of the neighborhood, mixed with ample color. It’s a far cry from the modern Western cities where sleek modern buildings offer fancier facilities but lack some soul.
