Fidel is Watching – Havana, Cuba

I saw this woman through a doorway with the painting of Fidel Castro, and had to take a picture. It’s an odd-looking place, however. Is it an office? A government facility or business? It looks shabby even by Cuban standards.

The woman appears to be working hard, doing desk work. It’s so timeless. No hint of technology or computer screens. On the right edge near the center of the picture is a bare lightbulb. Is that the only lighting at night?

Strangely, this place reminds me of government offices that display the current leader’s portrait. Of course, Fidel Castro passed away nine years ago, so the entire image looks like it’s stuck in a time warp.
