Colorful even for Cuba – Havana, Cuba

About a week ago, I talked about how colorful Cuba was, especially the clothing, where I found a lot of individual variety. Well, if you like color, I have a treat for you today.

I saw this lady from afar, and the group was going the other way, so I didn’t get any closer. I zoomed in to the maximum 70mm on my lens. It made for an okay shot. However, I cropped modestly in post to have more of her in frame. I like the verdant tree canopy, so I kept that in the picture, which also created a nice frame and a repeating element to boot.

At f/2.8, I captured enough of the environment but softened it to put the emphasis on the colorful subject. Plus, at 70mm, I’m getting some telephoto compression. While it’s a simple image, a smartphone won’t be able to render it as effectively.
