I have one last picture that I took during dinnertime from the rooftop terrace. I love this vantage point, which gives a great perspective on the interior courtyards I’ve seen in many buildings in Havana.
These architectural structures make sense in this hot climate for airflow and bringing light deep into the buildings. The casa I stayed at also had this kind of design, but the walls were off white. Though I don’t remember for sure, this is probably the courtyard from the adjoining structure.
This was also the last picture I made before going to bed. All the images I’ve posted from Cuba happened on day one. It was a long but productive day of travel and photography.
