Merry Christmas!
Take a look at some Christmas-y portraits on my Substack. I’ve been testing a new camera and lens combination that I’m really liking. Subscribe to my Substack for more recent stories, photographs, and gear-talk.
I opted not to break the flow of my Cuba coverage by featuring my usual Driskill Christmas tree like last year. However, if you’re imaginative enough, the models’ outfits are almost a Christmas green and red. That’s as close as we get to the Christmas theme on the blog this year. Though my monthly magazine will feature much holiday cheer.
As you can imagine, it’s very hot and humid in tropical Cuba. After all the work with makeup, hair styling, and the dressy outfits, it made sense for the models to be transported in a more gracious, less taxing way. While it’s not a limousine, a pedicab was a lot better than walking to the venue.
We have Daniella and Kamy here just before they took off. Our group of photographers walked, which was fine with me. It gave me a chance at more street photography.
There was a third model who must have also gone via pedicab or car; I didn’t see her during our photowalk.
