I’m wrapping up coverage of La Guarida with several more interior photographs of this marvelous restaurant. We are on the third floor, looking out from the seating area. Somewhere on the left were the bathrooms, and the kitchen appeared to be at the very end of the hallway. I didn’t go down there, but as you can see in the photo, there is a slight haze from the cooking in the kitchen.
The old-world detailing is fantastic, and I love the rhythm of the windows on the right. It would’ve made for another excellent place to shoot portraits. But we were done with that for the day. We were having lunch after our morning portrait shoot.
Halfway down the hallway on the right was this find. An ornate spiral staircase leads to either the fourth floor or the roof. I didn’t ask, and I wasn’t about to climb up there without permission. I shot all the photos in this post at 24mm, which doesn’t do this staircase justice. The tight quarters demanded a wider lens, which I didn’t have.
These three pictures are from the restaurant’s seating area. There were numerous rooms, and at least one or two more that I don’t show here. There were multiple parties, and ours was the largest. However, the restaurant was relatively quiet, with customers concentrated in the main section.
I shot quietly to document the other rooms. The old architecture and white tablecloths add a classic touch. However, the bright yellow and the mix of modern and traditional art created an eclectic, creative environment.
