The Pedicab Gang – Havana, Cuba

Here’s a change of pace, a pedicab that isn’t moving.

With such a friendly gesture, I had to oblige. As I mentioned before, everybody I met in Cuba was neutral to friendly. It’s really an excellent place for street photography or street portraits. Was I just lucky? Don’t know. Unlike other cities where people may be standoffish or feel threatened by photography, I didn’t detect any of this in Havana. Was it because the people and culture were laid-back? Or perhaps they realize that tourism is key to their economy.

The pedicab’s orientation provided a leading line down the street. It gives an added environmental context.
