I didn’t want to leave you with the impression that everything around the Capitol is in a state of disrepair. In the distance, past the palm trees, we see the beautiful Gran Teatro de La Habana. Here’s the view of the theater from the front. The picture above is near the back corner of the Capitol complex, looking diagonally north.

Everything looks great from this perspective, with monumental buildings befitting a capital city. The more run-down apartments and cinema I featured recently would be on the left, out of frame.

Walking a bit north and turning right onto San Jose Street, we see the theater on the next block, with its magnificent tower.
