It’s Diamela’s turn to sit in the audience with the added bonus of dramatic posing.
While there are some non-ideal aspects to this portrait, this picture does represent a milestone of sorts. Unlike the other pictures, where the scene was preset by someone else, I worked with Diamela one-on-one to set the location and lighting.
Given how I framed this, it seems wider than 32mm. Of course, since I gravitate towards 50mm portraits, 32mm is significantly wider. Diamela is looking dramatically off in the distance, which seems cool, but I’m not sure the context works as well as it could. Overall, however, I’m satisfied with how I lit her with my remotely triggered strobe. A technique that was definitely a work in progress.
