This may not look like the famous Grand Central Station you are familiar with, but it is. It’s the subway station located deep under the fancy one at ground level. And it’s deep underground, requiring long escalators to reach his level.

Like I talked about in this post from 2022, if ever there was a nuclear exchange, this is the place I would like to be. It’s buried so deeply underground that it seems as safe a place as any. However, given that I live in Austin, it would be unlikely that I could get there in time.

We were headed east on the Number 7 Subway train toward Queens, our first touristy destination after having a healthy and tasty meal at the Amish Market. We were there in late August 2025. Any guesses at where we were going?
