As someone who loves architecture, the High Line is more than an elevated linear park. It’s a stroll through diverse architecture.

Here is exhibit number one. On the left, we see old converted factories. The ones further down are made of brick. The structure immediately to the right might look like a former factory, but the concrete facade looks suspicious. It may be a newer building made to look like an old industrial space. However, there is no ambiguity with the two ultra-modern residences on the right, which look remarkably different. In the distance, we see the gleaming glass towers of Hudson Yards.

I made this picture at a 24mm equivalent focal length, which is fairly wide. A wide-angle lens exaggerates the apparent size of nearby objects while making distant ones appear smaller. Thus, while the Hudson Yards skyscrapers are tremendously tall, they look about the same height as the buildings in the foreground.
