As a photography enthusiast, I have a conundrum. I want high-quality photos of myself and my family. Still, I have realistic concerns that the average person won’t be able to use my cameras properly.

I’ve generally relented and given my iPhone to strangers to take a snap of us. I know that almost everyone knows how to use a smartphone at this point. It is better to have a decent picture of us than a potentially great one, assuming they can use a dedicated camera. Which is not wise to assume.

We are nearing the end of the High Line in this scene. At the wall of buildings in the background, the path splits left and right. Going to the left leads you to the Hudson Yards development. Continuing right takes you further east and peters out between 9th and 10th Avenue. Conveniently, it’s about 2 blocks away from B&H Photo.
