I don’t know much about cosplay or anime, for that matter, but when I saw these two, they looked interesting. Interesting enough to ask for a portrait.

Given no knowledge of this world, I uploaded this photo to ChatGPT and asked who these characters were. It responded with a well-formed answer, certainly better than what I could muster. It said the person on the left looks very much like an Umbreon, a Pokémon character. The person on the right was harder to determine. ChatGPT hedged its bets and said cosplayers often customize or modify costumes. It appeared to be a fox- or wolf-eared anime or game character. Its wild guess was a character inspired by a game like Genshin Impact or Zenless Zone Zero. Sounds good to me. I have no idea.

ChatGPT also made other observations beyond the people. It knew the person had a rolling suitcase with them. And it found the contrast between the characters and the mannequins in the background “humorous.” I’m often surprised by the level of observation and sometimes insight these AI technologies discover.

I shot the first photograph with the Leica D-Lux 8, and I used the Camp Snap for the second picture. Obviously, there are differences in image quality. However, color is the most obvious difference. The Camp Snap only shoots in JPEG, and I couldn’t post-process the colors to adequately match.
