In the middle of last December, just before the holidays, I was downtown to watch The Nutcracker. I got there early so I squeezed in some photography. Conveniently, but really on purpose, I had the Ricoh GR with me. Despite my gripes with the camera, the small point and shoot form factor, and big sensor allows me to make decent images.
Down by the river, I was attracted to the twinkle of the skyline at twilight. The riverboat with its drawbridge like entrance, beckoned. The warm glow and festive spirit drew me in. There were no customers, which made it easier. I walked halfway down, using the entrance as a leading line, and snapped this photo.
It’s been a while since I’ve posted to the Daily Life Collection. It’s where I feature everyday images, hopefully unique in some way, captured as I go about life in Austin.
