I don’t create a lot of abstracts. But last week, the confluence of circumstance, light, reflections and monochrome inspired me. I was early for a wonderful four hands piano concert, which I talked about in yesterday’s post. I even included a concert footage video, so you should take a look.
Today, however, it’s all about the beautiful concert-grand Bosendorfer that was sitting there, “center stage”. It’s one of the notable items at the Adam’s Music House, which is a new facility in Austin that centers around classical piano music.
I was shooting my Olympus PEN-F, as usual, in monochrome mode. I noticed the wonderful reflections, light and the simplifying effects of black and white. Shooting close with a big aperture, I wanted to blow out the surrounding details and create a thin depth of field.
Here’s what I came up with, with increasing abstractness.
