I titled this “Paris Like”, but in truth, I have no idea if that’s true. I’ve only been to Paris once, when I was a teenager, nearly 40 years ago. And, back then, I’m pretty sure I didn’t go to bars. No, this picture fits my image of a Parisian bar, whether authentic or not.
This is a photo, in fact, of a French restaurant located in Santana Row, called the Left Bank. Their website claims they are “an authentic Parisian-style brasserie”. Sounds good to me, though I have no idea if this is just marketing bluster. Regardless, I like the way it looks, especially the bar area with the large clock.
I shot this from the entrance, with my humble Canon G7X Mark II zoomed to a 57mm equivalent and shot at 1/10th of a second. There’s a barely recognizable motion blur of a bartender, a happy couple at the bar, and some women sharing wine. All unplanned, of course, but adds to the richness and ambiance of the photograph.
