I’ve flown to San Francisco a number of times, mostly on business. But back in 2013, we flew over San Francisco Bay, from the southern tip northward towards SFO Airport. I notice these wonderful patterns. I’m assuming these were land reclamation projects to make more livable area in a very expensive part of the country.
As you can see from the photo below, it was also very colorful, especially with extensive post-processing. But, I surprisingly found that black and white also has merit. The texture, the reflection, and shapes have an organic flow that I find fascinating.
For this photo, I did turn the post-processing dials way up to get these crazy colors; it certainly wasn’t this vibrant from the plane. The base colors where there, however, and the magic of digital had revealed a surprise.
