Here’s another scene from Taylor, not very far from yesterday’s Howard Theater. Of course, downtown Taylor is not very large. It’s the same watercolor effect as yesterday and part of my Art-ish style I’ve featured from time to time. I’ll try not to make a habit of posting these, but I do like the effect for certain photos. It just enhances the mood I’m going for in my photography.
From the first time I visited Taylor, I’ve always been fascinated by the KINCL neon sign. It was an old hardware store run by the Kincl family and was in disarray until refurnished eight years ago. So attuned to the sign, I almost fell out of the chair when I saw it in Transformers 4, as I was channel surfing TV. I’m not necessarily a fan of the Transformers series, but I suppose you get a lot of action for your buck. So much so that I’m exhausted after watching it.
Here’s a short 2-minute clip I found on YouTube of Transformer 4 scenes from Taylor. You can see the KINCL sign at the 21-second mark and two brief flashes after 1 minute. It’s always fun to see scenes in a Hollywood movie of places you know.
Quite unintentionally, I think today’s image has somewhat of an Edward Hopper-esque feel.
