I saw these stylish women as I was walking from Arab Street to Little India in Singapore. I asked for a portrait. While I made several street portraits in India, this was my first and only one in Singapore.
Through a brief conversation, I discovered they were visiting from Paris. I had first assumed they were Singaporean. I said I was from the US, though my camera gear and less-stylish clothes probably gave me away as a tourist.
I always enjoy talking with people on these trips, even if it might be for just a minute. Architecture and cityscapes are fun, but human interaction always layers on a richness that you don’t get from just buildings.
