I rarely have more than one person in a Drink and Click portrait, but today we have Bianca and Naudia, who are friends. I’m continuing with the fifth portrait of this series, created in early February.
Shooting with a shallow depth of field makes these kinds of portraits more challenging. If both subjects are not in the plane of focus, one can appear sharp while the other doesn’t. I lucked out here since both are well focused. To ensure a sharp focus on both, I should have decreased the aperture to an f-number larger than 2.8. f2.8 doesn’t sound very narrow, but with the Fujifilm GFX 50R, that’s equivalent to an f2.2 as a full-frame equivalent.
Because of the current pandemic, I didn’t go to the Drink and Click in March. It’s been a while, and I’m looking forward to creating more portraits when the coast is clear. Who knows when that’ll be, however.
