I’m standing on a pier, similar to the one you see in the foreground, to take this picture of the skyline. It’s an angle I’ve never shot before. It’s a vantage point right from Lady Bird Lake, which is the dammed river that runs through the center of downtown Austin.
We are close to the boathouse that I posted a couple of days ago. The boats you see here belong to the Austin Rowing Club. To the right, you might see the kayaks that can be rented from the boathouse.
I thought it might be interesting to rent a kayak so that I can make skyline pictures from other vantage points. Of course, I wouldn’t bring my Fujifilm GFX 50R. Despite some weatherproofing, I doubt it would survive a dunking in the water. And, given that I have no kayaking experience, there might be a distinct danger of some unfortunate accident.
