This is the view looking northwest along the park that runs on the north side of the downtown river. The paths and stairways you see here lead to the popular hike and bike trail. I shot this near Congress Avenue, roughly across the street from yesterday’s The LINE hotel.
The foliage was thick and unexpectedly colorful when I shot this in late October. Winter usually comes late in Central Texas, and the vegetation is usually flush into November.
A decade ago, you would’ve seen perhaps one tall tower from this vantage point. If this building boom continues as planned, I expect even more structures to fill in the gaps.
