I saw balloon man as I came down Main Street. Conveniently in the center of the street with the iconic Sleeping Beauty Castle in the background. I was zoomed in a bit more than usual, to about a 56mm equivalent, to get the tight framing I wanted.
It’s too bad there were so many people around, adding distraction to an otherwise clean composition. But that’s the nature of Disneyland. At least you know that this was not a setup shot. I waited for a short time, and I captured the gesture I wanted.
I’ve interspersed my black and white street photographs in this series. Though a small subset of the whole, I think they contrast effectively with my colorful observations. Street photography is fun, especially when successfully capturing a gesture you were looking for.
