I’ve been a little negative on Little Tokyo after a superficial exploration of the area. It’s really unfair. And there is certainly more to a place than its outward appearance. Sort of like the city equivalent of “Don’t judge a book by its cover.”
I liked that there was plenty of street life — it wasn’t a lonely and desolate area. Some of the big malls look bland, but the smaller street-level malls bustled.
Active street life always makes me think of street photography opportunities. I snapped this picture in front of Cafe Dulce. I also did closeups of the window area. But I prefer this expansive view taking in the street life and architecture.
