San Antonio Tex-Mex

Soluna Restaurant – San Antonio, Texas

I don’t know where Tex-Mex cuisine started. Reading a short history on the internet didn’t pinpoint a particular place of origin. All I know is that the Tex-Mex food in San Antonio is far superior to that of Austin. And, compared to the rest of the world, I’m sure Austin’s Tex-Mex is no slouch.

One of the advantages of having my older son attend Trinity University is he knows the good San Antonio restaurants. Last August, when we dropped off my younger son for college, we all got together for lunch. Conveniently, both sons now live in the same city.

We’ve been to a couple of other places. However, the suggested pick this time was Soluna Una Cocina Mexicana. Located in San Antonio, just north of the upscale Alamo Heights neighborhood. The food was fantastic. I expected no less. I also loved the lush old-world feel of the place. Plenty of plants inside and out.
