Although there is a burst of new towers closer to downtown Honolulu, Waikiki Beach has not seen many new buildings. Much of Waikiki Beach has been built up in previous waves of construction. The Ritz-Carlton Residences are comparably new. While this new structure is curvy with architectural flourishes, many of the older towers in the area are generic boxes.
I believe this is the newer Diamond Head Tower completed in 2018. The Ewa Tower, which you can see in the top right corner, was built in 2016. This tower is east of the first tower and closer to Diamond Head, the famous extinct volcano.
In total, there are 552 residences, all with ocean views. Both towers are 38-stories tall. The Ritz is definitely one of the fanciest residences in Waikiki. One downside, perhaps, is its location on Kuhio Avenue. Which is not nearly as swanky or desirable as Kalakaua Avenue, one block south towards the beach.
