For the second in this Drink and Click series, a conventional-looking portrait. Except — perhaps — for the horns. You might have noticed them.
I took this photo in downtown Austin a few days before Halloween last year. Jon chose to celebrate with a subtle costume.
Old habits are hard to break, and I become antsy at ISO 3200. The image at that sensitivity typically starts degrading — getting noisier. However, on the Fuji GFX 50R, ISO 3200 is no problem. Especially if I’m not lifting shadows. Jon appears crisp and clean even at full resolution. I need to keep this in mind. Since these Drink and Click portraits are often made in dark bars with modest supplemental lighting.
