I was on Kuhio Beach, where they usually perform my favorite hula show. It takes place on a (now fake) grassy stage near the sand at sunset. Because of COVID, I assumed the show was on hold. Unfortunately, I was correct.
The Fuji GFX 50R would’ve been perfect. Its outstanding dynamic range works wonders. I had pull out all the post-processing tricks to get that 2016 picture looking good as it does. Especially with the Olympus cameras.
The sunset hula show capture would have to wait for another future visit. I did, however, create this dynamic sunset silhouette instead. More artistic, I think. And less documentary.
